ECDC is an ACM SIGGRAPH committee whose mission is to plan, develop, and facilitate activities that bring additional year round value to the student members and emerging professionals of ACM SIGGRAPH.
ECDC serves individuals who are pursing undergraduate and graduate education, as well as those within their first three years after graduation.
ECDC has three key programs:
1. Resume & Reel Reviews (AKA: R3)
2. Mentoring for ACM SIGGRAPH Student Members (AKA: Mentor Me)
3. Ongoing Webinar Series
ECDC also provides continuity and institutional memory for the student volunteer and intern programs at the SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH Asia conferences and collaborates with other SIGGRAPH entities on issues that affect student and emerging professionals.
Early Career Development coordinates webinars on various topics, from computer graphics career advice to tutorials on specific technical knowledge.
Searching for that first internship or job can be a daunting process. Providing professional advice and feedback to ACM SIGGRAPH Student Members.
One-on-one mentoring by professionals is one of the most powerful methods of learning facilitated through email, phone meetings, and in person.
ECDC provides multi-year continuity and helps vet candidates for each year’s Student Volunteers Chair and maintain the Student Volunteers Chair Handbook.
